Be part of something beautiful with Something Bleu!

Celebrate the unveiling of Celia Grace Bridal in partnership with Something Bleu Bridal. We couldn’t be more excited and honored to be one of only 6 stores in North America to be offering fair trade gowns! Trunk Show preview of the entire collection December 30th – January 3rd, by appointment. (Something Bleu’s permanent Celia Grace collection arriving through Winter 2016.)

Stunning wedding dresses with a heartwarming story, for brides who are beautiful inside & out.

Sewing Dresses, Changing Lives
Fair Trade is a global movement to end poverty by giving you the ability to vote with your dollars for the kind of world you want–one where people are paid a living wage, work in safe and fair conditions, and can break the cycle of poverty.

Helping Women Around the World Help Themselves
Each Celia Grace wedding dress is exquisitely hand made by a group of highly talented and respected tailors.  Learn more about the women (and a few men!) who sew Celia Grace wedding dresses here: http://www.celia-grace.com/meet-your-seamstress

Eco Beautiful Wedding Dresses
Did you know that most wedding dresses are made from petroleum-based polyester that pollutes our air, water, and earth? Celia Grace fabrics are handmade, natural fibers, or small-batch fabrics to reduce our environmental footprint.

Preserving Tradition with Every Stitch
The tradition of weaving silk dates back hundreds of years and is ingrained in the culture of Cambodia. Silk weaving has slowly been making a comeback since the Cambodian Genocide as surviving grandmothers teach their grandchildren the art form.

Founder & CEO: Marcie Muehlke

When Marcie couldn’t find a wedding dress that matched her aesthetic and her values of sustainability and human rights she decided to create Celia Grace — a line of wedding dresses that would be more meaningful for brides, seamstresses, and the environment.

Marcie earned her B.A. in International Development at Brown University, followed by her MBA and MPPA at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. To make her dream of a fair trade wedding dress line a reality Marcie has traveled the world to find ethical and highly skilled fabric and dress makers.

In addition to being head over heels for weddings, Marcie also enjoys backpacking, skating, traveling to out-of-the-way villages where silk has been woven for generations, and spending time with her growing family.

Head Designer: Alix Kivlin

Fashion runs in the family for Alix: she has been involved in making clothing from an early age.  Alix’s Italian grandmother–an exceptional seamstress–sparked Alix’s interest in sewing and clothing design and instilled in her the value of a quality, handmade craft.  This creative trade, coupled with Alix’s personal value to uphold ethical production standards makes Celia Grace a perfect fit.

Alix received her B.S. degrees in Fashion Design from the University of Wisconsin and the Fashion Institute of Technology and then spent a decade designing for some of America’s top clothing lines before being captivated by Celia Grace. Throughout school and work, Alix has traveled the world meeting craft and sustainable producers, gathering textiles, and soaking up cultural inspiration.

When Alix isn’t busy designing clothing and working with Celia Grace seamstresses she enjoys travel, cooking, biking the streets of Brooklyn, reading National Geographic, and adding spicy mustard to everything edible.

Owner Denise and Buyer Alli had the wonderful opportunity to work directly with Marcie and Alix at New York Bridal Fashion Week.
